The Antares Child Sponsorship Program connects caring individuals with orphaned and vulnerable children aged 3 and above in Kazakhstan.  The recommended sponsorship contribution is $15 USD per month, which helps support the administration and operation of the sponsorship program. Beyond this amount, sponsors may choose to provide additional support through gifts, outings, special occasions, educational needs, or other opportunities that benefit their sponsored child.  One of the most meaningful ways to build a relationship with your child is through regular correspondence. We encourage sponsors to send letters and photographs whenever possible, ideally at least once each month.

What information will I receive about my sponsored child?     When you begin sponsoring a child, you will receive:  The child’s name and date of birth.Information about the child’s grade level, interests, hobbies, and needs (where available)  As we receive new information from Kazakhstan, we will share updates with you whenever possible.

Is my sponsored child available for adoption?     The Antares Foundation is not an adoption agency and is not affiliated with any adoption organizations. Unfortunately, we do not have access to information regarding a child’s adoption status or eligibility.

Will I receive updates and additional photos?     Yes. Whenever your sponsored child receives a package, participates in an outing, or celebrates a special event funded by you, we will do our best to provide photographs and updates.  You may also occasionally receive:  Letters from your sponsored child (translated into English where necessary) Drawings and handmade cards from younger children.  For additional photographs and updates from our coordinators youcan also follow our work on our Facebook page and in our private sponsor groups, where we regularly share news, stories, and photos from Kazakhstan.

What types of outings and activities are available?     Outings and activities vary depending on the child’s location and opportunities available at the time. Details and costs will be provided whenever an outing opportunity arises.  Examples of outings include:  Shopping trips Park visits Bookstore outings Café or restaurant visits Seasonal celebrations Birthday parties  A typical birthday celebration includes cake, juice, fruit, sweets, and a small celebration with friends. The cost of sponsoring a birthday party is generally $50 USD.

What other ways can I help my sponsored child?     Many sponsors choose to provide additional support beyond their monthly sponsorship. Examples include:Dental treatment Eye examinations and glasses Clothing and footwear School supplies Birthday gifts Holiday gifts Special outings  Because many goods and services are more affordable in Kazakhstan, it is often more practical for our local coordinators to purchase needed items directly. Please contact us if you would like guidance on meeting a specific need.

Who are the Antares Coordinators in Kazakhstan?     Our coordinators are trusted local individuals who serve as the link between sponsors and children.Their responsibilities include:  Delivering packages and gifts Organizing outings and birthday celebrations Translating letters and messages Taking photographs and videos Providing updates on the children Communicating with the Antares team. Their dedication helps ensure that sponsors remain connected with the children they support.

What about children who do not have sponsors?     One of our greatest hopes is that every child in our program will eventually have a sponsor. Children without sponsors can sometimes feel overlooked when they see others receiving letters, gifts, and special outings. If you are able, we encourage you to include a small item for an unsponsored child when sending a package or to sponsor an outing for another child alongside your own.  The children are wonderfully generous and often share what they receive with their friends and siblings, meaning that your kindness frequently impacts many more children than just the one you sponsor.

When does sponsorship end?     Sponsorship continues for as long as both you and your sponsored child remain part of the program.  A sponsorship may end if: You choose to discontinue your sponsorship The child is reunited with family or placed in foster care The child is adopted The child graduates from the orphanage system and moves to a location where contact is no longer possible.  If you decide to end your sponsorship, we kindly ask that you let us know so that we can begin searching for another sponsor for the child as quickly as possible.  Most children leave the orphanage system after completing the 9th Grade, typically at around 16 years of age. Some are able to remain through the 11th Grade before graduating. Whenever possible, we continue facilitating communication between sponsors and graduates, although this is not always feasible if a child moves to a remote location.  Every sponsorship makes a lasting difference. Beyond gifts and financial support, your letters, encouragement, and friendship remind a child that they are valued, loved, and cared for.

General Fund - This fund is used for expenses such as bank fees, internet/website expenses, printers, paper and ink (for our Kazakhstan Coordinators to print and hand-deliver letters to the children), Kazakhstan Coordinator salaries, special orphanage requests, international banking fees, State Registration Fees, and other business expenses.

1on1 Resource Center Program - Your sponsored child will need and appreciate your continued support after they graduate from the orphanage.  Our program provides a mentor and financial support for tuition, supplies, clothing or living expenses to ensure the graduates are able to continue with their education.  The Post-Orphanage Program offers many ways to continue your child sponsorship. The 1on1 Resource Center Program provides opportunities for each post-orphan to earn money by creating a hand-made project. This hand-made item is purchased by Antares Foundation, Inc. and is then offered to be    Antares are tax-deductible as the law allows. Our Tax ID# is:  68-0579443.
