Letters: As a sponsor, we encourage you to have a close relationship with your sponsored child. This means the world to them. Writing a one page letter once a month is a good way to build your relationship with your sponsored child. We encourage you to write and send letters and pictures (up to two pictures per letter) via email. You will email them to our Letter Coordinator, Reva at [email protected] - in the subject line please include your child's first and last name, your first and last name, as well as which orphanage. Reva will forward your letters and pictures on to our Kazakhstan coordinator who will translate, print and hand deliver your letter to your child. You will receive a picture of your child with your letter. The coordinator will help your child write a letter back to you. Once they translate your letter, it is then forwarded back to you. The process normally takes about two weeks.
Packages: You may send a maximum of 3 packages per year per child. We suggest sending them for the New Year's holiday, the child's birthday and the start of school in September. When you send a package, you need to email [email protected] to let us know who the package is for, when it was sent, and any special instructions. There is a $10 package delivery fee that is payable when a package is sent. This covers the cost in Kazakhstan of the pick-up and delivery of the package to your child. We also get pictures to send to you of the child receiving your package. Outings: We coordinate outings for the children. The outings are not mandatory but again, it is nice for the children. On average, outings cost $35. In the past we have had outings to cafes, the movie theater, amusement park, bowling etc. We will post about the outings on Facebook and you will have the opportunity to send your child on several outings per year. You can send money for a party, for gifts, for a personal shopping outing, or for a special outing with friends. Please contact our Birthday Coordinator Aaryn at [email protected] to discuss options. Sending Money. You can send money to Kazakhstan at anytime for your child. Sometimes children have special needs (from eyeglasses to a costume for a special performance) and we will come to the sponsors first to fulfill this need. Also, if you prefer, you can send money for the coordinator to purchase a gift in Kazakhstan and they will deliver it to your child for you. Post Orphanage Program. Children graduate and move out of the orphanage either after completing 9th grade, 10th, or 11th grade. Antares provides sponsors with the ability to maintain contact with their sponsored child as well as support them financially through a cell phone program, monthly stipends, etc. Remember: You will not change the world by sponsoring one child, but for that one child the world will change! |
Sponsorship Fees
The sponsorship fees will cover the translation fees, and transportation fees to the orphanages.
